retrofit HVAC Zoning.

Hi again. We have a single story house, quite spread out , and have serious trouble with one end radically cooler than the other. The HVAC sys was not a zoned system, which I think would have helped. We were told we could "zone" the house by having dampers installed in each of the main lines. So anyway we had the largest HVAC co in the area come out and have a look and were told the only option would be an entirely new second system. The current one is 5 ton, servicing 2200 sq ft. They said the ducting would have to be increased in size to zone the house, which made sense , but, it is essentially impossible to tear all that stuff out.. Next, a service tech told me there was also a way to install draw fans to increase flow, rather than larger ducts.. Anyhow, the question, can I zone the house without adding a second system or tearing out and increasing the duct sizes? Does this draw fan system work? |
