Try to reply to all who have here. Have input on this before, but in a different way, was in regards to on the side of hill for less heat gain/loss. That has not changed. The side of the hill has been dug out over a couple of weeks time, almost ready for construction. Walls have to hold up against soil pressure, insects, and water intrusion. And, dogs who like to chew everything that looks chewy. Tall order, I know. Concrete seemed the logical choice at face value. Am semi-retired, looking for part time employment, but able to do hard work if needed. Am watching my pennies though. The dog house, if not made of combustible materials, with an added steel plate topcover, could be used for hazmat/flammable storage. Don't intend to move it. Will probably go with cinder block, waterseal it. Can get about 30 blocks free from sons who are moving into town. Remainder is about a dollar a |
