Installing the main T's one inch below the joists will give you room to install the tile after the grid is up. The mains are usually 1¼" high, so your ceiling would finish at 2¼" below the joist. -- JerryD(upstateNY) I have read many opinions about whether drywall or suspended ceilings are preferable in basements, and I'm still undecided. Ceiling height is a significant factor, however, so I ask: how close to the joists can I hang the grid for a suspended ceiling? I am aware of the ceilingmax system, but I'm asking specifically about traditional suspended ceilings. Thanks! Jim . |
