T roy: Was in Victorville years ago when it was a very small town. Don't know if this is a problem or not - would sealing the tile surfaces which will be in contact with the setting bed and grout cause a reduction in adhesion to the point of being a problem. Don't know if silicone is used as a sealer but it also works as a release agent on forms. There are so many issues that only experience can identify. Was once watching one of those TV home improvement shows about setting a vertical stone finish on a fireplace. The stone kept falling off - finally someone suggested making the mix much richer to increase wet adhesion - that worked but sped up the set time. Am in process of planning a for a new home - tile in entrance ways, under wood burning stoves, porches and maybe kitchen. Still debating what flooring to put in the kitchen - either tile or strip oak flooring. . |
