Yeah, perhaps not. I'm not an engineering so I can't evaluate the structural viability of what I am thinking about. But the picture in my head looks something like this: Sockets in the slab above and below (or in a steel truss overhead), 15' on center, into which can "snap" 6"x6" square steel tubes. These minicolumns would have connectors to support wall panels made from engineered materials, with the appropriate preinstalled electrical connections and door openings, etc. Minicolumns and panels could be installed or removed as necessary. I suppose this is really just a scaled up version of the office wall panel systems. /afb . |
