Open web floor trusses

Planning on building a new house - talked to a HVAC guy and he said open web trusses are the way to go - makes his job much easier. Any problems with them - any difference between metal webs and wooden webs - seems to be more room for things with the metal webs. Also I suppose the field trimmable ones are better. Am going to put down 3/4" strip oak & maple flooring over most and part will be ceramic tile. Will probably screw and glue a 3/4" sheet between the trusses where the tile will be laid. WIll screws lessen squeak problems versus air driven nails - will glue all of them down with const adhesive. Comments? . |
