Beehive in Soffit

We live in a two-story home in the Arizona desert. Discovered this morning to my dismay that a hive of bees have moved into a section of soffit. Due to the fact that we live in the desert and have no lawn to mow or manicure (I love that fact), I don't traverse the perimeter of the home often and as result, they've had ample time to produce a comb. Wife pointed out to me that there's honey dripping from the seam between two sections of soffit. My brother and I had a couple of hives as kids but I've long-since forgotten everything I knew about beekeeping. I'd like to remove these myself and would appreciate any pointers. I'll need to use the sawz-all to free this small section of soffit. This would prove a much more relaxing scenario for myself if said bees were in a very "relaxed" state. :-) I'd prefer not to poison or otherwise kill them. I've contacted local |
