If I'm understanding OP's desires; you want hot water w/o significant wait or water waste. You can create a "false" recirc system by connecting a timer & water temperature controlled recirc pump between the hot & cold water lines under the sink closest to your shower. The timer enables the pump which comes on when the water in the pump falls below a set value. The "cooled off" hot water is pumped into the cold water line and hot water is drawn to the pump, when the hot water arrives, the pump shuts off. This gives you hot water at the sink with no water wasted. The timer enables the pump at times that you choose, morning and / or night; or 24/7. or ??? Just make sure the hot water lines are insulated otherwise you'll be heating the crawlspace with the HWH> Pump system available at HD for a few hundred bucks. I've been thinking about installing one to avoid the 5 minute wait & water waste |
