Concrete raft for timber garage

A local contractor has just finished making me a concrete raft for a timber frame garage. I asked for it to be 12in thick and it looks only 8-10in thick. I also asked for it to be level and it slopes down to one corner - a drop of 1 to 2ins. I'm tempted to get it broken up and replaced with a new raft but it's a big, messy job (approx 32ft x 14ft) so I'm wondering whether it will do the job anyway. How serious is that slope? The contractor says he did it to allow rainwater to run off which sounds like baloney to me. Can my garage builder make adjustments to the upright timber frame posts so that the building sits square? Will it be any the less structurally sound for these adjustments? Thanks for any help. Stan . |
