geothermal energy - Canada

Anyone out there using a geothermal system to heat their building in Canada? I'm looking the possibilities of an open loop system (with my water well) and a closed loop system (vertical). With energy prices as they are I'm pretty open to heating alternatives for the new home we'll be building soon. I'm not sure yet if I'll go with a forced-air furnace or a radiant heat floor so we could be looking at a air-air or air-liquid geothermal heat pump. I'm out in rural Nova Scotia (Annapolis Valley) with a very large lot so space for drilling wells is not a problem but I prefer not to use a horizontal closed-loop system because I'll have to cut down a lot of trees. I've been trying to do a lot of research on geothermal and a previous question I posted about p2k insulation but I find it tough to get good first-hand accounts of using these technologies.
