Shed Roof

Hi all, I have a shed that is approx. 35 years old. I would love to get rid of it and build a new, larger one, but due to being laid off and low funds, I have to repair this one to make it last for a few more years. The major problem with it is the roof. It is probably original by looking at it. The asphalt shingles are deteriorated badly and some are missing. It needs to be worked on this year before winter arrives. But what I was wondering is, if I was to put down some new plywood over the existing shingles, paper and put down new shingles, would that be a repair that would hold up for a few years? I am not looking for a repair that will be in for 10-15 years, just 2-3 until I can build a new shed. I already have all the materials on hand so the only cost right now would be my labor and as I said, I am not working so I have plenty of time to do it. Thanks. . |
