Your local municipality may have code regarding electrical conduit burial depth. Same for conduit type. The cable, assuming its copper wiring, you selected is probably okay for most workshops with minimum electrical gadgets, outlets, and lights. Google can help you find the table for proper wire gauge vs. power consumption. Use cable meant for underground use to ease of routing in the conduit. Do not use Romex or similar not meant for conduit. PVC conduit is not internally waterproof. The workshop needs its own grounding rod for electrical ground for the subpanel. Do not use 10-3 cable to carry the house electrical ground to the workshop. Do not tie the house electrical ground to the workshop electrical ground in any manner. The only place they will electrically tie is from the mutual neutral to either buildings electrical ground in their panels. |
