Pouring step down footing for shed

Hi all, I'm designing a 12x20 ft. shed in the backyard of a sloped lot. Restrictive covenants require a masonry foundation, so I'll probably pour a continous footing (i.e. - 8"x16"). My question is how to form the step down portion (since I want to keep the foundation wall height to a minumum)? Can I form it up with plywood and 2x and do a continuous pour - not sure if the mix will stay in the vertical portion or if it will flow to the lower section? I would rather use a ready mix truck, but I may have to rent a mixer as the truck may not be able to get to the backyard. Couple more questions: If I have to mix myself, what is the longest set time I can get so I don't have to be in a hurry (i.e. admixtures)? Can I cut a keyway in case I want to end up pouring a stemwall instead of doing block, or do I definitely need to decide this upfront? I will check codes with the county, but I'm not sure a permit is |
