If you have a lot of tree around, how about using a wood fired boiler ? I don't know how much time you want to spend on getting a supply of wood for the winter. If you have time and they are cutting timber nearby, the tree tops are left in the woods and probably free for the taking. (get permission, of course) Or I am sure people will sell you already cut and split firewood in large truck loads. Either way, it would be a lot cheaper than paying for natural gas or propane.
