Don't rely on waterproofing coatings to handle this. You have water coming in from somewhere, and it needs to be found and fixed or you will forever have water and mold problems in this house. You will probably not be able to sell it without putting yourself at great legal risk for failure to disclose if you "assume" the problem is solved, and you could have problems getting insurance, or keeping it, because insurance co's can cancel policies on homes that have water or mold damage problems. Put your complaint in writing to the builder and send it certified return receipt mail so you have written proof he was notified, even though that may seem pointless since he's obviously acknowledged there's a problem. With no paper trail, the warranty can run out and he can claim you never notified him you still had a problem. If being nice is working so far, write the letter nicely and state that it is |
