Beware of Kolbe & Kolbe Windows

I own a home in SWOhio with 23-double pane, double-hung wood windows, all made by Kolbe & Kolbe in Wisconsin. Cannot begin to tell you how bad these things are. I have mold growing between the panes in three windows...yes...MOLD! Contacted the local K&K representative over a year ago, took measurements and never heard from them again. When I followed up, was told they were on "back" order! If I had the money, would definately replace every window in the house with Pella or Anderson, anything has to be better than what I have. The house is only 8-years old, it has become a yearly ritual to buy the stuff you use a hair dryer on to seal them up. You can see the curtains move on a windy day. We were informed that an authorized, "trained" K&K installer did not install the windows...ha! Can't tell me their windows are so special that it takes a company trained |
