basement flood problems HELP!

My basement is flooded! My house is a colonial built on a relatively steep hill. The rear of the house is burried to around 7'. the front is at ground level. there are poured cement steps in the rear leading to the basement. Whenever there is a large downpour, the basement fills up with around 20 gallons of water. I measured this by emptying the wet vac as I clean up. Tonight I removed over 100 gallons!! The main areas of water emergence were a small hole in the block at the floor, and the hole for the waste pipe. The new leak and reason for the extra 80 Gal. is a 2" hole that blew out of the block at about 18" from floor level. I know the water is collecting outside the wall, and is traped by the stairwell, causing the pressure, and is due mostly to poor grading of the property. All the runnoff is directed tward the problem area. Here are my questions Is the foundation still structuraly sound? |
