Moving Water From A Garage Floor With No Drain

My concrete garage floor has no drain. Some of the surface has been etched by winter road salt. I plan to clean the surface - perhaps with a mild solution of muriatic acid - then coat it with Rust-oleium's "Epoxy Shield". But before I begin the task, I'd like to make provision for draining some of that caustic winter sludge that collects and melts on the garage floor; no drain was built into the floor and the slope isn't steep enough to move drainage to the front. Even if sludge could flow to the front, the rubber seal on the garage door would prevent it from escaping. To avoid getting heavy drainage from my car in the winter, I knock off the excess snow with a broom before I put the car away. My first thought is to take a circular saw with a masonry blade and cut sloping groves in the floor the entire length of the garage terminating in another grove that meets at right angles just in from of the garage door. |
