The 2-story rowhouse is in the NE between MD and VA. An extension was added onto the existing structure about 20 years ago. I will only be replacing ~400 sq of siding which is about 1/3 of total exterior exposure (other sides are shared w/ neighbors). Per Hardiplank specs, I can't go much thicker than about 1/2" and there isn't much space with only 45" to the property fence so I would rather not build out the wall. On a side note, there is also a 8" gap on the other side where work cannot be done, so I plan on closing it in.
