OK I've shot my load hehehehe I screwed up and only ran 10/2 from my main panel out to my subpanel which is in a shed. So far I've put in my feeder breaker (30 amps) out to the subpanel. At the main panel the black and white wires are my hot wires (from the feeder breaker) and connect to the hot lugs on the subpanel The bare ground wire connects to the ground/neutral bus bar on the main and to the ground/neutral bus bar on the subpanel (there is only one bar on the subpanel and main) After hooking up all breakers on the subpanel (in the off position) I threw the feeder breaker at the main into the on position and it promptly blew. Figuring I needed a ground at the breaker panel I put in a ground from the ground lug on the subpanel directly into the ground (dirt) under the shed. I had the same results when i thurned the main breakers on. OK I should have used 10/3 for the feed wire and I still may but what am I |
