tips for laying a floor?

I am thinking about installing 12" x 12" vinyl composite floor tiles in my basement and am looking for tips. It is a 25'x25' room with a large 3'x3' column in the center. It has some old asphalt/asbestos tiles that are secure. The area around the column was dug up during a recent renovation for a new footing, so it is fresh concrete. That area will need to be raised to the level of the original tile. I will not be removing the old tile for obvious reasons. The new tile are Armstrong Excelons. I have good experience with ceramic tiles, but this is a different skill. I did a few test tiles and the edges flex some after 24 hours. Questions: 1. How long do I let the glue dry before placing the tiles ? Does dry but tacky take 10 minutes or several hours ? I have some Armstrong adhesive glue specific to this installation. 2. Do I need to roll a weight on the tiles to help compress the glue when |
