This is true. It calls to mind a situation my father had. He was a carpenter for over 35 years. I worked on the crew that he was the foreman for. We built multi-million dollar homes here on the coast of Maine. I'm talking some of the nicest houses (without being the cathedrals that are in California!) you can imagine. Anyway, he was reviewing the blueprints that an architect had given him to take a look at. It was for a three story home, somewhere to the tune of 3,000 sq/ft. My father was astounded. There was no way the upstairs of this place would have been suspended by the downstairs. No way. He called me over, and I don't know crap about looking at blueprints, but I could see what he meant. He sent them back to the architect, who had to do a complete redraw. I will find a SE and have him take a look at this. I would never put my family at risk, nor anyone else's.
