I dug out mine , it was a half basement of dirt. To dig yours out you have a footing issue and support wall problem. The easiest would be jack the house and lower it back on the built up wall. Digging you first need to be sure of the water table and subsoil. You cant build the existing foundation wall down with a footing you would need a separate wall and footer, But how will you get the load on the new wall without the old wall falling unevenly cracking everything. I did it with multiple screw jacks but it was only 1 1/2 walls. Digging by hand is a nightmare, Id still say lift, build wall, and lower. Then you have your guarnteed footer and solid wall and little mess from digging for months. A quick job if scheduled right. . |
