60 amp is sufficient, is safe if properly done and not overloaded where I am. If the insurance co made no demand then why even worry. Best for you would be to get an electrician to just go over the panel to be sure everything is tightened and up to code , a quick check over, just for your piece of mind. The only thing all houses should have and would be a good upgrade at the time he is out is a whole house surge suppressor, they work whereas add on plugs ins don`t work as well. Write down what is on each circuit and load drawn so you know and if needed the electrician can adjust while he is there. 100a is alot of power, from what you describe 60A would be sufficient. To give you an idea I could run my house on a 1500w generator, but apliances are new. alt home repair has alot of electricians visit, try there. . |
