Your 80,000 budget to build 1200 square feet is 66 a square foot. Start by finding any individual who can support with documentation, them haveing done what you ask for that price in the past 6 months, not someone who did is 2 years ago under much less expensive material costs than today. I have built several houses, and currently am building a 850 sqft detached casita in my back yard. No way I am coming in at 66 a sf, I am closer to a 100 (DIY). You ask "People who dig and pour concrete for the foundation (slab)? framing " ... I paid $3 a square foot for flat work (interior slab) which is ABC/Termite treatment/concrete finished, last week. I paid $25 a linear foot for footing/steel/stem about 2 weeks ago. Those prices are already to low because the cost of concrete is up this week...
