Thanks for the input everyone. I never believed planning out a deck would be this difficult. But I know planning it out with as much detail initially will save me the headache during the actual construction. The planned low, floating deck will be using no posts, just the 4x4 pressure treated beams attached to the concrete piers (12"x12"). The beams will be spaced 7 feet apart with 4 piers spaced out evenly along each beam. I'm going to space the 2x6 pressure treated joists no more than 16in on center between the beams and will be using 5/4x6in composite decking. The deck should be no taller than 12 inches. . |
