Depends what you like to do, to some extent. There are sightseeing buses that will take you round the main sights so you can decide what you'd like to go back to; there are river cruises too, and tours on fat-tyre bikes and Segways as well as guided walking tours round different areas. Not to mention more museums and art collections, and fancy shops for all sorts of things, than you could get through in a couple of months. Get a good guidebook (I like the Eyewitness guide myself, but maybe you can check out a few before deciding which one you like) and take your time thinking about what you'd like to see. Don't underestimate the joy of just wandering - for me the 'France Experience' is dropping in on a corner café and just people-watching, but it's different for everybody.
