The 24hr clock has been used in the UK for public transport timetables for around 40 years now, and doesn't seem to cause any problems. Bit like learning to drive, perhaps: at first you think "OK, down on the clutch, into first, give it a bit of gas, slowly off the clutch" - after a while you cease to think about it. I remember when 24 hr clock timetables first appeared - "Oh Shit! 17:15, that's 17 minus 12, so quarter past five in the afternoon". Nowadays I see 17:15 and think no morte about it. |
