Sangean is said to make rather good all-band portable radios. They are sold by places like Universal Radio in Ohio and Radio Schlock sells some of them in the USA as does C Crane. I strongly concur that digital tuning is vital for shortwave. You should consider a radio that covers the European longwave band as well as AM/MW, SW, FM/VHF. Many Euopean countries have one or two very powerful longwave station(s) that cover well beyond their borders. IIRC, the original poster asked for "superb" radios. Be warned that no small portable will sound very good on its internal speaker. . |
