The backsourcing is already starting to backfire (no pun intended), but I don't know if upper management knows or cares about this in most companies. For example, turnover in outsourced employees is extraordinarily high. Indian computer specialists often change jobs every few months, for higher salaries, because none of the jobs offers promotion possibilities, competition is substantial, and the only real motivator is the salary. Of course, some Indians are already pricing themselves out of the market, and outsourcing is being shifted to Thailand or China. |
