Oh, disagree on the latter. Megabus trips from Manchester to Glasgow are great. Around 4 hours, a smooth ride on motorway passing through some glorious countryside. (I do prefer the train, which is quicker, but the nonstop bus service was a good substitute when there was engineering going on.) IMO the Americas do bus travel better than much of Europe. I've had some relaxing long journeys in the US, and a fantastic drive from Cancun to Merida in Mexico a few years ago- about the only time I've fallen asleep (albeit only 30 minutes or so) on public transport. -- |
