It's not so much a conspiracy or at least it didn't start off that way. The robber barons had everyone including publishers believing it was OK to keep the public out of the public debate. This mentality -- "elitism" is too nice a word -- was grandfathered in before the internet. Now, however, they just look silly trying to keep the public out of the public debate. They have the wolf by the ears. They cannot fess up on one hand but the longer they continue trying to keep up the facade the more ridiculous they look. Bret Cahill . |
