How does merely carrying a required ID restricting any of your rights, even those of so called 'privacy'? Particularly if you aren't called upon to produce one... You are in most places required to wear clothing that covers your privates and I assume comply; yet such act as clothing yourself does not restrict where you may go in general. Nor would an ID card. I'm hearing talk of 'big brother' here but 'big brother' already knows plenty about you...How is being able to sort your identity out in a public situation devoid of communication to 'big brother central' a restriction of any rights? It clearly has public safety advantages; what's wrong with that?
