As well as the all-day orgy of pre-race, race and post-race coverage, the TV channels never stopped showing reruns of the race and even the serious papers had multi-page sections about it. The Tuesday morning papers were still full of the news. In the hotel we were staying a young guy stood transfixed in front of the TV with the tears almost streaming down his cheeks a day after the race. BTW I thought the Renault team guy with the "Schumacher who??" T-shirt was being a little distasteful. After all, Michael set the all-time record for F-1 championships. You wouldn't expect anyone to wear a T-shirt saying "Senna- who??" would you? T. . |
