For a purely resistive item like the heater in a teapot a simple tranformer would do. But the tranformer may be a bit big and heavy. Unfortunately, inexpensive devices to raise voltage rather than lower voltage are hard to find. You should be able to buy a 110x220v tranformer at an electrical supply outlet like Graybar, but you'll need to hook it up backwards (they're intended to lower 220 to 110). You'll also need to do some electrical work as the transformer won't have cable and plugs. |
