Antigua's location is such that Hurricanes tend to pass either north over the Atlantic or South accross the other Islands, St Lucia, Barbados etc. However, this doesn't mean they can't get one and as previously pointed out, disruption can not be avoided. The frequency of Hurricanes seems to have increased nowadays, some say this is to be expected with Global Warming, this year has been particularily active and we are now upto 12 named storms.
