Many >thanks. > >Sheila > > To echo what others have said. Digital storage media is not photosensitive, therefor exposing it to light or X-rays will not effect it. You can let your camera and media cards go through an X-ray scanner with no ill effects. Film of any sort, 35mm, B&W, Color is by nature photosensitive. Exposure to light, lasers or X-rays prior to development may fog the film (the film records the photons of the X-ray). You are relatively safe with films rated ISO 200 and slower. Film at ISO 400 on up is more susceptible. Exposure of X-rays on film is cumulative. The more times you pass your film/camera through X-ray scanners the more it will become fogged. |
