There are many dive operators in Barbados, and I think they are all proper and good. Name me the place you are going to stay, and I will tell you what is nearby. Fishing from shore is a common thing, so I guess it is legal. I see sometimes people stay near Pelican Village, just a short walk from the center of Bridgetown. And there is people with fishnet walking the beach many places on the island. Why not try for the big catch, and join one of the deep sea fishing boats, leaving Barbados every morning. And if you like fish: Dont miss out the Oistins fish market. A fun place to go every night. Friday nights are very busy, very loud. A lot of people go there then, but we prefer one of the more quiet days. Have fun, and good luck with catching fish!
