Good health and high spirits! It is always good to try something new, Lifes to short not to. A good getaway and about 50% cheaper than Hawaii is Dominican Republic. You can find many secluded places and private beaches to hang on. You can hike or take a donkey to waterfalls, boat to one of the worlds most famous beaches not accessable anyother way, In most of the places you can find local or foreign restaurants and plenty grocery stores. You can rent a car or just go by local Gua Gua/motoconcho to whereever you want to. The land is beautiful and the people very friendly. As for Belize and Costa Rica, I found them to be way to touristy, and are becoming expensive, especially Belize. Most places in the Carribean are cheaper than Hawaii.
