My goal was to find an island to relax for a week with a lot of sand and minimal requirements for swimwear. I found it on St. Martin (French West Indies). Another thing that attracted me to the island was that it is actually split between two countries (Guadeloupe and Netherlands Antilles) so you get an even bigger mix of culture to explore. The French side of the island is less developed and less crowded. The Dutch side of the island is where the cruise ships come in and has a lot more shopping.
