"Dennis" - Re: Roofer's Contract Spec'ed #30 felt paper, but used #15 instead -- Suggestions? - Most likely they used two layers of 15# felt. (actually it's required in Ohio because for ice protection at the eaves.) The felt is double layered and cemented together up to a point 24in. in from the exterior walls. If the roof slope is 2:12 up to 4:12 (low-slope) a double layer is still required for the rest of the roof (otherwise 15# will be code). About the only way you can tell...

"Dennis" - Re: RV electric - You would have two legs feeding 50 amps per leg. Between the two legs you have 240 volts, and between either leg and the white, grounded conductor (called a neutral in a 240 volt circuit- there's no neutral in a 120 volt circuit) you would have 120 volts. If you have access to the NEC, Article 551 covers Rec Vee electrical installations and Article 552 covers Park Trailer electrica...

dbuckley@mail.com - confused on NEC for grounding garage - If I am wiring a 100 amp subpanel in my detached garage with 240 using 2-2-2-4 AL, I am carrying the ground from my house's main panel (60 amp breaker). Does NEC require that I have a grounding rod at my detached garage? If that is the case, should I only be running 2-2-2AL? thanks. Any arguments for using copper? The AL seems like it may be overrated, but cheaper in the end. ....
