"Fat Man Pedaling" - Re: I'm Tired Of These Ungrateful Hurricane Victims
- If you need to look up to see the ocean (ie, you live BELOW the level
of the ocean), then perhaps getting out of the way of even a CAT 1
hurricane would not be a bad idea.
But when you are 3rd generation ward of the state, it is commonplace
for people who have done nothing for themselves for so long are
suddenly going to start. Yet another "benefit" of $6.6 trillion of
wealth redist...

assembling whatever facts support their conclusions and suppressing any

them with the truth, especially if it contradicts the dying orthodoxy
that they labor to preserve.
Especially with such a fabulously incompetent recovery effort done by

Actually, the water is safe in the Cancun hotel district (they
filter/treat it). I wouldn't be so sure about downtown... :)
We stayed in Cozumel last April an...

bigjim@backpacker.com - Re: Big Problems on RC Empress of the Sea
- You are a victim of the bait and switch fraud used by all cruise lines.
You pay for something and get an inferior product. Not too long ago
NCL defrauded customers expecting a trip to bermuda. they got sent to
canada instead. Here's the lesson-- If you want to go somewhere
-FLY!!!! There are at least legal protections for those who fly. I will
never cruise.

- It's not the food that will make you sick, but the water. In Cancun
the tap water is safe to drink - but outside of Cancun drink bottled
water, even a salad can make you sick - lettuce washed in water! When
in doubt drink bottled water. I've never been to Cozumel, but I enjoyed
Cancun. I never encountered the currents in the water, I stayed at the
Hyatt Regency and snorkelled at ree...

"Michael" - Re: Cancun and Cozumel
- Well, people can be touchy about what questions are posted
on a newsgroup.
I have two big concerns to begin with. First is a safe place
to snorkel, and second is how to eat out and still not end up
getting sick.
I understand there is a fierce undercurrent along most of the
beaches in Cancun. So where can I go nearby that is safe
for snorkeling. I've seen pictures of Xel Ha, ...

"Gary" - Appreciate your kind advice
- My spouse and I have vacation time scheduled for November 13 through the
30th. Where would you recommend we go (that will have good weather) that we
could get for a reasonable price? We'd prefer something to help us stay
organized - a tour, cruise, etc.
Could you also recommend an agent or site to book?
Thanks!
Gary
