- Look at the risk.
If there are no drains in place now, adding them will be difficult.
(Think about running the pipe under the slab and finding a place to
dump the water.)
What is the probability of floods in the area?
What do the neighbors say about the need for drainage?

- If I was doing it, I would use wire-nuts, but I would use the procedure
in the paper at
http://www.inspect-ny.com/aluminum/alreduce.htm
(This is a paper writen by a PhD Professional Engineer based on
extensive testing of aluminum connections done for the Consumer Product
Safety Commission. It includes a wide range of fixes for aluminum wiring
based on that research.)

"Borg hater" - Re: confused on NEC for grounding garage
- Prefer to think the grounding rod need in this fashion:
Electricity will take both the least resistant and shortest path to ground.
If there is no grounding rod at the garage, and a mutual hot and grounding
wire break and contact occurs near or at the garage, the current flow will

more time for wire meltdown befor...
