"TAB Dude" - Re: Need new gas boiler for house - what brand? Is Slant Fin good?
- Carrier and Lennox do not build thier boilers, they buy them and relabel.
If you have Nat. Gas or LP look at a High Efficieny boiler like a Munchkin
or Peerless Pinacle. Costs a little more to buy but worth it!

"Joe" - Broken Fridge Freezer?
- The other day I opened up my fridge and noticed that the inside of it is
room temperature and that food had went off. It is a 2.5 years old Candy
fridge/freezer unit - it is not self-defrosting.
I had noticed the day before that there was the sound of water trickling
down the back of it, loud enough to be noticable from anywhere in my
kitchen. The unit is getting power (e.g. the l...

ollie_w_holmes@yahoo.com - Fix Kitchenaid Dishwasher or Replace with Bosch?
- I selling a relative's home and am wondering if I should pay to have a
45 yr old Kitchenaid dishwasher that won't start fixed, or replace it
with a brand new Bosch? The difference in cost is a few hundred
dollars. If the repair only adds 90 days or whatever to the life of the
Kitchenaid, does it make sense?

jim evans - Re: Magnets & Wrist Watches -- Are They Compatible?
- Just in case you are interested:
Here's Seiko's take on it
http://www.seikowatches.com/support/faq/care.asp#3
I took a Dollar store LCD digital watch and laid it overnight on top
of a quite strong rare earth magnet. It was running the next morning
and is still running 2 days later. I didn't check to see if it gained
or lost time.

- As a wise painter once told me, you go slow when you need to go slow,
and go fast when you go fast. Learn how to cut in by hand. Also, use
good brushes and take care of them, cleaning brushes and stuff takes
time every day.
Outside - watch out for power linbes and bees nests. Painting is
oftentimes hard work but it's one of the few jobs where you have the
satisfaction of seeing t...

Thanks so much for your replies.
I have unfortunately been unable to eliminate the posibility that all
of this is caused by either of the 2 ghosts that live here. I've asked
both, but neither one of them is talking.
Putting that possiblity aside, let me add some details and thoughts:
1) Under normal operating conditions, the light can be turned on by

ksternberg1@yahoo.com - Re: Refinance?
- Possibly to resell the new mortgage after it's in place. On the face of
it, $96 doesn't sound like a lot of savings, but how much interest per
year will you save?
If you want to refinance, shop around first to see what other lenders
are offering.

Stuart - Refinance?
- The holder of my mortgage offered to refinance my 6.625% 30yr fixed
loan with a 6% 30yr fixed loan, reducing my monthly payment by $96.
The offer states:
No application fees
No appraisal required
No income verification needed
No out-of-pocket fees
No waiting
Why would the bank want to do this?
