The ‘Chiostro’ is a wonderful restored complex located in the most exclusive area in the Cortona territory, surrounded by 17th century villas and adjacent to a beautiful pre-Romanic church.
The property lies in the centre of a small valley, protected by its hills from the cold northern winds; very well exposed to the sun, it is plunged into greenery, rich in vineyards and olive groves, centennial trees and many cypresses, giving serenity and mysticism to the area.
Easily reachable from A1 highway and very well connected to the railway lines (Intercity in Terontola), the complex lies less than 5 km from the centre of Cortona, old Etruscan city very famous for its architectonic beauties and its intense artistic and cultural life. Cortona is an ideal base for trips to Florence, Siena, Montepulciano, the Trasimeno lake, Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, all of them very easily reachable.

Used until the 80s as an oil mill, the property has very ancient origins and it is therefore protected historically-architectonically by the Ministry of cultural assets. It covers an internal surface of approximately 2600 sqm, with a nice private park on the outside.
The restoration, which has just finished, has been a thorough work lasting for years, in the utter respect of the original structure, which has been kept identical.
Both the internal and external finishing shows the maximum care. The building has a rectangular shape with an internal cloister and it has a stone exposed façade, with wooden frames; the internal cloister is very nice, enriched by a beautiful portico to which some apartments open.

The apartments are 30, different for typology and size. Some of them have an external private garden. All of them have timber beamed and cotto brick-tiled ceilings and floors with handmade Chianciano cotto tiles; all the apartments have air-conditioning units, satellite TV and telephone with ADSL line.
