There are several Golf courses close by, as well as tennis courts and excellent tracks for mountain biking in Serra da Sintra.
Cascais used to be a traditional fishing village but it is nowadays a cosmopolitan place, with lots of activities and excellent facilities for a wide variety of sports and also culture. The marina of Cascais is the starting point for some sailing competitions and there are several Golf courses in Cascais that are known across Europe.
