Overlooking the river Brenta and surrounded by quiet greenery, our house is
located in the centre of Mira, in one of the most beautiful and charming areas
of the Riviera del Brenta.
The Riviera del Brenta is a first-class historical, landscape and natural
environment, which sprang up as a summer retreat for the Venetian
aristocrats who built their wonderful holiday villas here along the banks of the
river Brenta.
Our house is situated in a central, comfortable position for several towns
which rank among the finest and most interesting of Italy.
It is an antique Venetian “barchessa” built in the 1540s. Both the outside and
the inside of the building maintain all the original period features and have
recently undergone a conservative restoration. The main front looks onto a
large private garden and over to the Naviglio del Brenta. All rooms open onto
the back (south) front, overlooking another wooded garden.
The two Barchesse Valmarana were the side wings of Villa Valmarana, which
no longer exists, and are among the oldest of their kind. Seen from the
Naviglio far bank, they preserve all their scenic beauty, facing the river in one of
the most beautiful and quiet areas of the Riviera.
